Annual Homeowners Association Meeting 2/8

The Board of Directors announces it's annual meeting of the Association for Wednesday, February 8 at 7p in the Ridgely's Run Community Center on Mission Road.  The Board will be presenting a budget to the members, requesting a modest increase (5%) in the Association's dues for 2012, and electing three (3) new members to the Board of Directors!  Among the Board members whose seat is open is our current treasurer.  While specific officers of the Board are elected by the Board itself at its first meeting, any individuals with accounting or finance experience who are interested in such a position are encouraged to run for a Board seat which is voted on by the members present at the meeting.  
Over the past year the members of the Board of Directors have been working hard at designing and writing a new, updated version of Covenant of the Association.  The Covenants are the legal binding documents that serve to provide organization, structure, protection, and support for our Homeowners Association.  These Covenants however were written when the neighborhood was first built in 1983.  Many changes to state and county laws regarding homeowners associations have come into effect over the years and the Board also determined that some of the guidelines were simply out of date.  Therefore the Board of Directors set out, with the help of our legal counsel to prepare a revised version of the Covenants.  The Board will present a draft version of this document at the meeting for membership review and follow-up meetings will held to gain homeowner feedback on the revisions.  A vote on these changes will take place in late spring or early summer.
The Association will also be presenting information on this website and new methods of communicating with the Board or Directors.  Light refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded!  Please come on down, meet some neighbors, and get up to speed on the neighborhood happenings!
